Obituary for Holly J. Lewis
Holly Joyce Lewis passed away on March 1, 2019 in Glendora CA at the age of 61.
Holly Lewis is survived by her loving husband of 26 years Mr. Kevin Lewis of Azusa CA; Two daughters Mrs. Shannon Sloan of Las Vegas NV and Mrs. Lashawn Perales of San Pedro CA; Three siblings Mrs. Robin Phillips of Hampton GA, Ms. Rosalyn Caskey of Pasadena CA, and Mr. Robert Caskey Jr. of Pasadena CA; One Aunt Jesse Gardner of Pasadena CA; Six grandchildren; Two dogs Solomon and Daisy and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Her mother Joyce Caskey, her father Robert Caskey Sr. and her beloved dog “Chip” preceded her in death.
Holly Joyce Lewis was born on January 12, 1958 in Los Angeles CA to Robert and Joyce Caskey. She graduated from Blair High School ahead of schedule in 1975 with a High School Diploma. After High School, she accepted a position at St. Luke Medical Center in Pasadena CA, which was the start of her career in healthcare administration. It was around this time that she began to regularly attend church services at Southside Christian Center in Los Angeles CA. At Southside Christian Center, she began to get involved in the children’s ministry and it is there that she came to know Jesus and ultimately accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior.
Holly was a member at Spreading the Word Ministries in Pasadena CA where she met Kevin Lewis. The couple fell in love and they were married June 5, 1993.
Over a period of 10 years, the couple welcomed a number of children into their home as foster parents. In 2007, the couple formally adopted Shannon Heaven and Lashawn Sannaa and set about providing them a loving and nurturing home. Her children remember her as a stern yet kind and gentle mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Holly was an accomplished homemaker and she loved to cook, decorate and plan events in her home. She was a thoughtful and generous individual who loved her family and who was passionate about her faith in Christ. She was an active and dedicated member of Faith Community Church in Covina CA and Holly’s sweet and loving demeanor will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Pasadena Community Christian Fellowship Church, which is located at 500 S. Pasadena Ave, Pasadena CA 91105, with a repast to follow. Pastor Carlton Edwards will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Holly's life.
