Obituary
Rosetta Jean O’Neal was born on December 7, 1942 in Tucson, Arizona to Louise Rosetta Carter and Nathaniel Williams.
Rosetta and family moved to Duarte, California in 1947. They first joined Open Door Church Of God In Christ pastored by Elder Roosevelt Tuggle, Sr. Thereafter, they joined New Hope Church Of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor E.W. Harding. The matriarch of the family Mother Annie Brooks made the decision to move their membership to Bethel Church Of God In Christ in Monrovia, California in 1955.
Rosetta was saved at a young age under Elder E.W. Harding where Rosetta played the piano for the church for many years.
Rosetta attended Davis Elementary School in Duarte then Northview Junior High. She later graduated from Monrovia High School in Monrovia, California in 1961. She furthered her education at California State at Los Angeles where she earned her degree in Elementary Education in 1976. Rosetta taught at Royal Oaks Middle School for several years. She taught with great skill and loved interacting with children.
Rosetta married Duncan Atkins in 1974, he preceded her in death in 1979. Rosetta later married Stanley O’Neal.
Rosetta is survived by her mother Louise Brown residing in Pasadena, California. She has two surviving brothers Albert Jones of Monrovia, California and John Jones of Los Angeles, California. Rosetta has two aunts Mrs. Celestine Boyd of Pasadena, California and Mrs. Dessie Lindsey of Newhall, California. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of cousins, nephews and friends.
